Windows

One of the hardest things to make is passenger car windows.  Rather than try to build these individually from scratch, we had these laser cut by Don Winter. Of course there was some amount of CAD setup and the drawings on these pages have been created by Doug to assist the process.

Double and and triple windows are each made up from a total of six wood parts and two clear parts.   These should have been painted ahead of time, with perhaps a different treatment for the inside and outside.

Begin by placing the large glazing for the window between the two lower sashes. 

Now, on the outside of the assembly, attach the inside piece of the upper sash.  Next, add the glazing for the upper window, followed by the outside piece of the upper sash.

This entire assembly will be inserted into the window opening on the car side and trimed with the framing pieces on the inside and outside.
