A lot of our efforts are based upon the ET&WNC prototypes.
The Azalea was a steel underframe observation car built in the early 1900’s.
The picture to the left shows the platform and railings on the observation end of the Azalea.
Below, some of the railroad workers pose with the train.
Below, you can see the Azalea at the end of a train. Over on the other track is one of the cabooses.
This is combine #15. It carried passengers, baggage and a Railway Post Office!
These are some shots of ET&WNC coach #16. We needed some details on the vestibule ends.
We also took a look at the construction of models by some other large scale modellers. Both Kevin Strong and Don Watson built masterful cars during the time while we were planning our cars and each of them used interesting and innovative methods. An outline of their work and appropriate references are included here as well.
